Parx Casino on July 30 announced that it has reached a material contract with award-winning developer and suppliers of enterprise-level B2B internet gaming software, services and online gaming content, GAN. The two are partnering up to offer sports betting at both retail and online levels in Pennsylvania. 191d31

Parx Casino was one of the nine licensed land-based casinos operators that managed to meet the deadline for the application of the Keystone State’s discounted interactive gambling licenses a fortnight ago. Parx and the other eight casinos chose to apply for the all three available licenses (online table games, online slots, and online poker) which went for a total of $10 million. After the deadline, each of the licenses will be going for $4 million each.

The partnership will see Parx Casino patrons benefit from GAN’s patented technologies. These benefits the ability of the customers enrolled in the on-property loyalty program to sign up online and instantly link their reward points earned from their land-based casino gaming. Similarly, the online platform’s customers will also be able to redeem reward points from their online gaming on the land-based casino.

“GAN has ably demonstrated its abilities with both its overall Platform and its integration capability for existing major clients. By leveraging GAN’s Platform, Parx Casino will have the opportunity to launch retail and online Regulated Sports betting together with online gaming in Pennsylvania later this year, subject to the regulatory approval of the PGCB,” John Dixon, the CTO of Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment, Inc., GAN’s parent company, commented.

GAN did not give a specific launch date for the platform but they confirmed that it would go live by the end of the year. The uncertainty associated with a specific launch date is most likely due to the fact some regulations still have to be written and competing operators are yet to field their petitions. The software provider further plans to expand its roles and offerings in the sports betting field – this will involve providing ing tech for Parx Casino’s sports book. This is a rather strategic attempt by GAN at making itself a go-to-name for other U.S.-based casinos as they attempt to launch their own sports betting offerings.

“Following the execution of this extension and amendment, GAN now offers clients a Platform equipped with multiple options for integrated sports betting to be launched seamlessly alongside GAN’s market-leading internet casino product. We welcome the opportunity to deliver Sports betting in the retail channel, as well as online, through GAN’s unique Platform containing patented technology,” Jeff Berman, GAN’s Chief Commercial Officer said.

As for Parx Casino, it will be adding sports betting to its already stellar arsenal of gambling facilities – the casino’s 170,000 square foot floor consists of 3,300 slot machines, a premier poker room with 80 poker tables, 100 live table games and live racing and simulation.
